The Daughters of Zion Women's Ministries had its inception in May of 1997. During that time, we were referred to simply as Women's Bible Study Group. In 1999, the name was changed to the Daughters of Zion Women's Ministries. We are an inter-denominational, multi-cultural group of women who share a love for Jesus. We exist to equip and empower women to enhance the lives of other women through Christ-centered bible studies. This enables women to discover and grow in their God-given gifts for ministry in every area of their lives. This is accomplished through weekly bible studies, leadership seminars, retreats, and luncheons. A vital part of our ministry is intercessory prayer. The ministry is based on Titus 2:3-5, which admonishes older women to instruct younger women. In March of 2003 The Widow's Mite, an extension of the Daughters of Zion was formed. The ministry focuses on the concerns and needs of widows and is led by Gloria Wilson, a widow of twenty years. Shirley Freeman is the founder and Bible study leader for this ministry. She is a member of Olivet Baptist Church in San Francisco, under the leadership of Pastor Steven A. Bailey. Visit Shirley's Desk
